Lacy Delight Throw

My latest project, an airy blanket, comes from the book: The Best of Mary Maxim, Ripple Afghans that I recently picked up during a shopping trip from JoAnn Fabrics.

When I saw the throw in this book it reminded me of the sea...waves if you will. To me this got my attention since it's winter in Michigan and seems so much colder than normal. Envisioning the sea, waves, and warmth simply makes me smile...I just had to start work immediately.
Close-Up-Lacy-ThrowNow the big decision...what yarn to use. The pattern calls for Medium (4) Worsted Weight. In looking at yarn options and color choices, I decided on using Caron Yarn for this project. Caron Jumbo - color Peacock Varigated and Caron One Pound - colors Cape Cod and Deep Violet. My tiger cat, Chica, decided to help show off the yarn skins that were chosen.
I am so loving how the colors are working together in harmony.
While the blanket has an airy feel, it is quite warm. This finished beauty took me just a week to complete. I have a feeling I will be using this pattern again in the very near future. What do you think of the completed throw?
